Budget vs Actual

Budget vs Actual

Budget, spent, and what is left, read straight from the Numbers columns already on a monday.com board.

Budget vs Actual is a monday.com dashboard widget and board view. It reads the Budget, Actual, and optional Committed Numbers columns you already maintain and shows variance, percent used, burn rate, forecast at completion, and over-budget flags per group or per board.

There is nothing to re-enter and no separate budget model. Change a number on the board and the report follows.

Two surfaces, one app

Dashboard widget

Connect one board and split it by group, or connect several boards for a portfolio roll-up with one row per board. Each widget keeps its own settings.

Board view

The same report pinned to one board. The board is the source automatically, so setup is just confirming which columns hold Budget and Actual.

Start here

  1. Follow Getting started to add the widget or board view.
  2. Learn how sources and breakdown decide what each row shows.
  3. Review status and thresholds, committed spend, and burn rate and forecast.
  4. Check the FAQ for permissions, refresh behavior, and troubleshooting.

Budget vs Actual is coming soon to the monday.com marketplace. This documentation reflects the v1 app running in the Wild West Labs monday.com developer account.
