Frequently asked questions
Answers about Countdown Pro permissions, date behavior, board refreshes, storage, and troubleshooting.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Countdown Pro need board-read permission?
Date-column binding, group filtering, next-deadline selection, items-left context, and the per-item board view require the app to read the relevant board structure and values. Countdown Pro does not request permission to edit items.
Does Wild West Labs receive my board data?
No. The v1 app runs client-side inside monday.com and does not send board data to a Wild West Labs backend. Configuration is stored with monday.com instance storage.
Why did a changed date not update immediately?
The clock updates continuously, while board data refreshes on an interval. Wait briefly or reopen the view to request fresh board context.
What happens to date-only values?
A date without an explicit time counts down to the end of that day. A date with a time uses the instant supplied by monday.com.
Can one widget show multiple countdowns?
Yes. Add multiple timers and give each one its own source, display, threshold, and time rules.
Can the board view use a Timeline column?
Countdown Pro recognizes Date and Timeline sources. Confirm the intended endpoint when a workflow depends on timeline behavior.
Why is a completed item still selected?
Choose the correct Status column and completion labels in the timer settings. Boards that use labels such as “Complete” or “Closed” need those labels configured instead of the default “Done.”
Does business-day mode know public holidays automatically?
No. Weekends are skipped automatically; holidays are a custom list maintained in the timer configuration.
